AI Weirdness reflection
The main project was a weird one for me. Some aspect of me loved it but another part of me really disliked it. I'll try to explain both sides.
What I liked
I have to give the project credit where credit is due. It was pretty well thought out on one end but not so much on other aspects but I'll get onto those in the points I don't like. In general I liked the fact you got to continue working with your group members you started off with during the studio side of things, this allowed us to get a closer bond than when you switch groups every 4-5 weeks.
I also liked the wide range of stakeholders Fontys arranged for us. The amount of them really allowed us to think of what we wanted to make and find the right stakeholder for it.
What I disliked
A few things I didn't like about the project. First off, the fact we had to choose a stakeholder by 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice shouldn't be a thing when at the end of it you get your 3rd option. We were told that this never happens and you always get your first choice... Well that was a lie. Thanks to this my motivation for the project, in the first week or 2, was pretty much drained because we got a project I didn't really want to do. But just like in the real world, you have to deal with it and make the best of it.
This ties in to what I said in the what I liked part where I said there were a lot of stakeholders to choose from. While I still agree with this point, the amount of projects you could choose from were limited. This made it so that if you didn't get your 1st choice, you were pretty much stuck with a project you didn't want to do.
Another thing I didn't really like, but this is probably for our project only, was the fact we were put together with students from Tilburg Transmedia. They're great people don't get me wrong, and it probably was a fault from both sides, but we didn't agree on too many things in the start. The communication was also a bit off at times. Due to this our project barely got off the ground in the first weeks. I would have rather seen us work with a group that is housing on the same campus as us, or maybe at the TU Eindhoven campus at best. This way if we don't agree on something or we have questions we can just walk over to each other and discuss it.
Conclusion
I know I spoke a lot of negatives and not so many positives but I still think the project, in broad lines, is a success. There are just a few things that could be changed in the future to make it just a bit better.
